Productive and Surprising

Productive Weekend: We did a lot around the house, got a lot organized, and were able to clean out some of our old stuff. I wasn't looking forward to it, but it needed done. We spent most of Saturday on our to-do list, then cooked dinner at home (steak burgers and glazed carrots). My mother-in-law was visiting for the weekend so she got some time with the boys.

Surprising: We had our 1st small group tonight of the new school year. We had been in the same group for the last 3 years and then a couple of us switched to a new group (since my parents decided to take a year off from hosting). It was nice to have some new faces, yet still be able to be in the same group with our friends. After a wonderful 2 hour small group, we went over to another friend's house to catch up for awhile. It turned out to be a wonderful evening with friends. I think we're really going to look forward to Sunday nights every week.

This week on the blog I'm going to try and focus on some of our goals as a family this year. The fall always reminds me of a new beginning, and new beginnings always bring about reflection in our house of where we are and where we are going. I'll post other things throughout the week as well. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
